Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars Live: The Miami Dolphins will use the third preseason game as a dress rehearsal for their Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, and coach Brian Flores said that he’ll likely use Ryan Fitzpatrick as his first-team Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback this coming week as Miami prepares to host the Miami Dolphins host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night in the first nationally televised game of the third week of preseason.

The Jaguars have lost both of their games so far this summer, with the latest defeat coming at home against the Philadelphia Eagles last Thursday. Jacksonville, who had failed to score any points in its first preseason game, again sat most of its starters in the 24-10 defeat.

Overall, 31 players did not see any action last week, including quarterback Nick Foles, running back Leonard Fournette, cornerback Jalen Ramsey and defensive ends Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone, however, indicated some of the starters were likely to feature against Miami, after missing out the first two games of preseason.

The Dolphins also arrive into Week 3 on the back of a defeat, albeit a much narrower one than that suffered by the Jaguars. Miami lost 16-14 in Tampa Bay on Friday night, as Josh Rosen made a surprise start under center.

Miami acquired the second-year quarterback from Arizona, after the Cardinals drafted Kyler Murray with the number one overall pick in this year’s draft and Rosen is expected to challenge 15-year veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick for the starting spot.

On Friday, Rosen threw for 102 yards and completed 10 of 18 attempted passes in the first half, leaving a positive impression on Dolphins coach Brian Flores.

“I thought he played well, made some good decisions out there,” Flores was quoted as saying by the Associated Press. “He was into the game. He was ready to go. I thought he did a good job in the huddle, getting the play calls in. I thought he played well from that standpoint.”

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Thursday.

Jaguar fans are looking for a win this week after two preseason losses to the Philidelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens. This week the Jags will take on the Miami Dolphins in Miami, a matchup that has Floridians excited.

Not only is it a great matchup, but Jaguars fans will finally be able to see Nick Foles and the rest of the starting lineup on the field. There’s no word on how long Foles will play for, but we can certainly expect to see a small glimpse of how this quarterback will perform during the regular season.

Just like you guys, I’m just anxious and curious and see what we’re doing well,” Head Coch Doug Marrone said in a press conference.”…there will probably a lot of things we’re going still need to work on.”

It’s also important to note that although the Jaguars didn’t score a touchdown in the first half of the Eagles matchup, the offense did take steps in the right direction following their first preseason shutout loss to the Ravens.

We’ll see if the offense can keep up the momentum on Thursday night in the 305.

Each week during the 2019 season, nine Jaguars experts – Rick Ballou, Tony Boselli, Frank Frangie, Jeff Lageman, Brent Martineau, John Oehser, Brian Sexton, J.P. Shadrick and Ashlyn Sullivan – will break down the following day’s Jaguars matchup.

an the offense with Foles under center get in a rhythm and score some points? We still do not know really what the John DeFilippo offense is going to look like and how will he use Fournette, wide receiver Dede Westbrook and others in his offensive scheme. Even though they will still be pretty vanilla with the game plan, Week 3 of the preseason will give us our first taste of what we can expect from this offense.

I think this defense is going to be really good and the only real question I have is the weak-side linebacker. The only thing I really care about in the entire preseason is coming out healthy, which doesn’t change for the so-called dress-rehearsal game. I hope we don’t see defensive end Calais Campbell, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, cornerback A.J. Bouye, defensive tackle Marcell Dareus and defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (to name a few) this week. They know how to play, and the defense is going to be good.

It has to be Nick Foles. Not only is he the quarterback, he was the biggest offseason free agent. A big part of the team’s success is riding on his right arm. I am excited to get a quick (very quick) glimpse of him this week. He has been great in practice this camp, and it will be fun to see him in game action.

For me, just the chemistry of it all. Lots of these guys have never played in a game together. Foles, Fournette, Chark and Westbrook – they are all new teammates. Everything from getting used to Foles’ cadence in a game, to managing a real play clock, the whole bit. I’m hopeful they have at least two or three series together to iron out the kinks.

Linebacker. That is by far the youngest position group on defense; Jack is a very young leader of the pack. Yes, Najee Goode is older and has been around, but Jack is the leader of the group because he has been here, calls the defenses, etc. Goode must play well if they don’t have rookie weak-side linebacker Quincy Williams this week. And Leon Jacobs has to establish himself at strong-side linebacker; I have a hunch that one isn’t decided yet, either.
